Many banks and mortgage lenders are being heavily criticized for their lack of helping home-owners facing difficulty making payments on their mortgage. Many institutions are facing heat from watch-dog groups and consumers who believe that the companies have taken advantage of individuals while receiving government assistance and aid to keep them a float.
An earlier posting mentioned how many homeowners are not receiving assistance. Some banks are providing assistance to a very low number of individuals, even though many more would qualify for a loan modification under the Obama administrations plan.
Banks and lenders have claimed that they are doing all they can, but many worry that this is not true. It will take more time to fully determine if the banks are helping out many home-owners in this difficult economy.
