FBI Investigating Mortgage Fraud Cases

by Administrator 16. September 2009 04:13

The FBI has stated that over 300 agents are currently reviewing nearly 2,600 cases involving losses related to the housing market and mortgages.

The FBI director told Congress on Wednesday that the organization is investigating numerous complaints of fraud and illegal activity related to the mortgage market. The director stated that agents are taking all mortgage fraud allegations very seriously and the ability to investigate these practices will be increased over the following few months.

The director has declined to mention any of the companies that are currently being investigated.
