Fannie Mae opened the Capital Area Morgage Help Center in Greenbelt, MD on Wednesday for homeowners facing foreclosure. The mortgage giant will provide free education and one-on-one counseling for residents across the Washington region.

These services are limited to those who have a mortgage owned by Fannie Mae.  Greenbelt is in Prince George's County, which is the region of Maryland with the highest number of foreclosures and highest rates.

This is the twelfth center of its kind being opened in the U.S.
