by Administrator 5. January 2012 17:25

Homes in Prince George's County dropped 36.5 percent in 2011, which is the lowest in Maryland during the last five years.

According to Robert Young, director of Maryland State Department of Assessment and Taxation, 80 percent of sales in Prince George's County during 2011 were foreclosures or short sales.  Though the value of homes have dropped, the tax rate will remain at 96 cents per $100 of property value.

Montgomery County's market is beginning to stabilize, and the results have shown that its market 12.7 percentage drop is better in 2011 than it was the year before.
