JPMorgan chase has approved nearly 138,000 trial mortgage modifications with the help of a U.S. government program that hopes to reduce the foreclosure rate.
JPMorgan has stated that the company has modified at least 565,000 homes since 2007 to help reduce the foreclosure rate. The company is also reviewing another 100,000 cases to determine if a mortgage modification is necessary.
The number of mortgage modifications is greatly increasing with the current economic environment. Modifications have increased greatly since 2008.
