Maryland Foreclosures Up 9 Percent

by Administrator 22. March 2010 01:06

Maryland foreclosures in February went up 9 percent from January, according to surveys. The state's February numbers rose to 5,732, which is an 80 percent increase from February 2009. Maryland is ahead of the national level of foreclosure, officials say, with the tenth worst rate of default in the country. One of every 407 Maryland households was in foreclosure during February 2010.

The national average of foreclosure for February was one in every 418 households. Nevada had the worst rates, with one foreclosure for every 102 households. Despite the fact that nationwide foreclosures fell 2 percent from January, February's numbers are still up 6 percent from last year.
