A Maryland man has pled guilty in a mortgage fraud case in which he was accused of using mail fraud to defraud mortgage lenders. The broker, 41 year-old Douglas Skibicki, faces penalties for two counts of mail fraud.
Skibicki could receive up to 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine for each count of mail fraud. Under the plea agreement he has also agreed to forfeit all of the gains and assets of his fraud scheme, including forfeiture of $1.4 million.
