Treasury Department Summons Banks

by Administrator 7. December 2009 09:24

The Treasury Department has asked several major mortgage servicers to meet Wednesday to discuss mortgage modification programs.  The effort is an attempt to meet goals and deadlines for mortgage modification by the end of the year.

The meeting will discuss the current successes, failure, and future of the program that is attempting to help individuals who need their mortgage modified. Many banks that offer mortgage services are rushing to meet a deadline that hoped to move many trial modifications of mortgages into permanent modifications.

Banks will likely attempt to increase the number of mortgage modifications in order to meet the stated goals of the programs that have been put in place by the Obama administration.
